Home gym equipment, checked before it is recommended
A treadmill is often the first machine in a home gym, rarely the last. These guides cover the rest of the room with the same rules: products confirmed as on sale, figures cross-checked, and nothing claimed that was not checked.
Most home gyms are built in the wrong order. The expensive machine arrives first, and the cheap things that decide whether it gets used โ flooring, a bench, somewhere to put the weights โ arrive later or never. The pillar guide sets out a buying order that starts with what you will use most and leaves the specialist kit for when the habit is established.
Strength equipment carries different risks from cardio machines. A rack has to be anchored the way its maker specifies, safeties have to be set at the right height, and a heavy rack or platform in an upstairs room is a floor-loading question as much as a fitness one. Every strength guide here covers those points before it recommends anything.
The product rules are the same as on our treadmill roundups. Each product was confirmed as currently sold, each printed figure was checked against the maker or a major retailer and an independent source, any figure the sources disagreed on was left out, and every brand was checked against the CPSC recall database. We have not tested these products, and the pages say so.
