1. Why a Belt Drifts

In the first five seconds after a quarter turn, nothing visible happens. The natural response is to conclude the adjustment was too small and turn again. 7. If It Will Not Stay Put

The important failure case. If you centre the belt and it drifts again within a day or two, stop adjusting β€” the rollers are not the problem and every further turn wears the belt edges.

Check the floor properly. A treadmill frame is long and comparatively flexible, and sitting on a floor that is not flat twists it enough to steer the belt permanently.
