Unplug the machine at the wall. Take hold of the running belt and push it by hand, in the direction it normally travels. You are feeling for how much resistance there is.
If it moves with firm but reasonable effort, the mechanical path is intact — rollers turn, bearings are alive, the belt is not jammed. That points the diagnosis at the electrical side: the motor, the capacitor, or the controller.
